UPS AND DOWNS: The Emporio Armani show offered a breather for young British actor Sam Claflin and world champion skier Christof Innerhofer. Claflin, who is wrapping up “Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” to be released in November, clearly relishes his day job. “Every day is a dream come true,” he said. During his first trip to Italy — albeit a short one — he squeezed in a walk around Milan’s cathedral on Sunday night. “It’s how I imagined Italy,” he said of the promenade.
Innerhofer, meanwhile, was taking “a mental pause” at the show before heading to Switzerland in the afternoon to train for the Wengen downhill race. Later in the month, he’ll head to Kitzbühel, Austria. Both are legs of the men’s World Championship. “I like the world of fashion and it helps to unwind from other thoughts,” he explained.
Following the show, a tanned and upbeat Giorgio Armani said he hoped the new government to be elected in February would help support the fashion industry. “It would be absurd, suicidal, not to develop this sector,” he said.
