ARMANI’S ACTORS: At Emporio Armani, British actor Tom Hiddleston was clearly relishing the chance to explore character building. In Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse,” he plays Captain Nicholls, whom he described as “a decent, upstanding British officer in 1914, when cavalry was sent out to war against machine guns. It’s sad.” But he was also excited to work on “The Avengers,” out in April. “I played a villain. I like complicated, flawed roles. It’s a superhero version of [Western film] ‘The Magnificent Seven.’”

Italian Super-G world champion skier Christof Innerhofer, who fronts the EA7 Emporio fall ads, was taking a breather from the slopes. “I came in third yesterday [in Wengen, Switzerland] and I’m off to Kitzbühel [Austria] to race tomorrow,” he said. Zenit Saint Petersburg striker Alexander Kerzhakov was also briefly off duty and said he viewed the link between sports and fashion as “normal. They share the same philosophy.”
