Louis Vuitton invited several soccer players to its men’s wear show Thursday.

KICKOFF: Louis Vuitton invited several soccer players to its men’s wear show Thursday, but don’t expect them to shoot a follow-up to the brand’s World Cup advertising campaign last year, which reunited soccer legends Zinédine Zidane, Diego Maradona and Pelé. Carlos Bocanegra, captain of the U.S. World Cup team, said he was focusing on the pitch ahead of the regional CONCACAF Gold Cup competition, which the U.S. is hosting in June. Retired player Hidetoshi Nakata, who has modeled for Calvin Klein Underwear, recently completed a road trip across Japan. “After living overseas for 10 years, I needed to go back to Japan to learn Japanese culture,” he explained.

French actor Pio Marmaï was warming up for France’s movie awards season, having been preselected for the Best Male Newcomer category at the Césars — for the second time in three years. In the meantime, he has teamed up again with Rémi Bezançon, the director who won him his first nomination, on “A Happy Event,” due out in October.

Lulu Gainsbourg said he was recording his first album, a tribute to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of his father, Serge. Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp are among those who will be singing covers of Serge Gainsbourg’s famous tunes, he revealed.
