WRITERS’ BLOCK: Oliver Sim, the singer and bassist of The XX, is enjoying some time off, having toured non-stop since the indie pop band’s critically acclaimed 2009 debut. Sim, who took in the Lanvin men’s show Sunday, said he was writing new songs and banishing thoughts about the mythical curse of the second album. “I’m trying my best to block it out and just enjoy what I’m doing and not think about the outside world, but there is a pressure, yeah,” he admitted. DJ Jeff Mills, a regular at Lanvin, is branching out into accessories. Mills, who recently moved to Paris, has closed his Chicago fashion boutique Gamma Player and plans to launch a line of sunglasses in spring with his wife Yoko Uozumi.
