COURTS AND COURTSHIP: “He’s really into basketball, he’s the number one fan,” said Dan Peterson, newly-appointed coach of the Armani Jeans Milan basketball team of the designer. “He comes to the games even on the road, even if he’s so recognizable,” said the American-born Peterson, who is a sports celebrity in Italy due to his successful careers as a player and TV commentator.
Peterson attended the show with the team members, who were wearing Armani Jeans track suits. In other news, the buzz is that Armani is the front-runner to design the wedding dress of Charlene Wittstock, who will marry Prince Albert of Monaco in July. The Olympic swimmer from South Africa wears the designer’s clothes and has attended his shows. An Armani spokesperson declined to comment on the speculation.
