Ann Demeulemeester Men's RTW Fall 2009
Few do moody clothes better than Ann Demeulemeester. For fall, the Belgian designer outdid herself with her modernized take on “romantic poets.” Sumptuous redingotes with copper buttons in washed wool or crushed velvet hung loosely over matching waistcoats and cummerbunds. Meanwhile, sequins glinting on jackets and flashes of white on lapels proved that somber doesn’t have to mean solemn.
