Lela Rose RTW Fall 2015

Lela Rose had quite a fix on fringes and feathers. They showed up, one way or another, on almost all of her silhouettes. Long or sheared fringes surfaced on crisp sporty jackets, tailored coats, tweed knits and even gowns. Feathers — beaded, printed and the real thing — adorned jersey tops, wool coats and embellished silk gowns.

The lineup’s real beauty was the loose, feather-beaded gray cashmere pullover worn with a tulle skirt. But for the most part, Rose’s strongest looks were feather- and fringe-free: an ivory guipure long-sleeved dress and a flared version in a felted lace knit, as well as a turquoise mohair coat over a magenta-and-lilac floral fil coupé dress. It all just proves that even in fashion, letting go of an idée fixe can sometimes be a good thing.
