OVERNIGHT VIGIL: With a 10 a.m. start on Monday, most of the guests at Stella McCartney’s show in Paris had skipped watching the Oscars, which are broadcast in the middle of the night in Europe. “I didn’t watch because I was sure Cate Blanchett would win, and in true French style, I already watched the Césars on Friday evening,” said Inès de la Fressange. “On Saturday night, I went to bed at 4.30 a.m. because it was my daughter’s 20th birthday. So enough with the all-nighters, especially during fashion week!”

“Actually, I totally forgot,” confessed Blanca Li. The dancer, who opened the Jean Paul Gaultier show on Saturday, is touring France with her latest show, “Robot.” Clémence Poésy said she also slept through the event, but was happy about Blanchett’s win. “She’s so marvelous,” the French actress enthused.

British singer Katy B had a good excuse — she was playing at the Kenzo after party on Sunday night. “I did actually stay till the end,” she said.

The Oscars did keep away two of the show’s most faithful attendees: Sir Paul McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell, who were at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Los Angeles on Sunday night. But Rihanna, Rila Fukushima, Karen Elson and Noomi Rapace were among those who turned out for Stella at the Paris Opera.

Aluna Francis said she is recording a new AlunaGeorge album, but she and bandmate George Reid will only pick a title once it’s done.

Meanwhile, Marianne Faithfull — who was spotted puffing on an electronic cigarette — is preparing for a banner year. “‘As Tears Go By’ came out 50 years ago this year. I’m going on a world tour with the new record, I have a book coming out — a big picture book with Rizzoli — and tons of things happening,” said the singer, adding that a documentary was also in the works.
