DIFFERENT STROKES: An eclectic group gathered on Monday for Giorgio Armani’s fall-winter show in Milan. Milan footballer Kaká and Italian author Rosetta Loy were joined by Swiss tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka, who is ranked world number three after winning the Australian Open last month.

“It was crazy stuff for me to win a Grand Slam, I never expected that, but so far I’m playing really good, so I’m really happy,” Wawrinka said, adding that he looked forward to competing alongside Roger Federer in Switzerland’s Davis Cup team.

However, the dream of reaching the number one spot individually is a distant one for Wawrinka. “I’m close but I’m far. Roger [Federer], Novak [Djokovic] and Rafa [Nadal] are playing so well since many years. They win in almost every Grand Slam, you know, so it’s tough. I have to be consistent and it’s going to be really difficult to improve my ranking,” he said.

Doriana Fuksas said she and her architect husband Massimiliano were completing projects including the Shenzhen Guosen Securities Tower in China, and had created a room for “Where Architects Live,” an installation due to be unveiled at the Salone del Mobile in Milan from April 8 to 13.

Their daughter Elisa, meanwhile, will publish her first novel, “La figlia di” (“The daughter of” in English) with Rizzoli in May. The book has an autobiographical bent. “Life is tough regardless how famous your parents are. I mean, being alive is work,” she said.
