DRESSING UP: The guests at Alexis Mabille on Wednesday afternoon in Paris had obviously never heard the adage “Never work with children or animals”; at least a dozen kids and two dogs — including one dressed in a coat featuring one of the designer’s signature bows — took in the show.
Aurélie Saada, one half of musical duo the Brigittes, had her two young daughters in tow, while pastry chef Christophe Michalak cuddled up to his very expectant wife, actress Delphine McCarty.
“In two months, we are going to be parents, so that’s the priority,” he said. Business is never far from his mind, however; the multitasking star chef is currently juggling his pastry master classes, a new takeaway, a kiosk offering sweet and savory choux buns in collaboration with Alain Ducasse dubbed Choux d’Enfer, as well as setting up his own production company for his audiovisual endeavors.
Musician Simon Buret, one half of French band Aaron, has just taken his first steps in the fashion world, starring in a series of eight shorts by Fabien Constant for YSL Beauté’s La Nuit de l’Homme fragrance, to break next week on the Canal+ network. “It’s a sort of strange ad campaign — eight portraits of the night, one for each of us,” he said.
French actor Pierre Deladonchamps, meanwhile, was taking in the fashion circuit for the first time ahead of his appearance at César awards (France’s equivalent of the Oscars) Friday evening, where he will wear a tuxedo by Mabille.
“You have to tell me ‘break a leg,’” he said, since he is in the running for the “Meilleur Espoir Masculin” (best up-and-coming male actor) category for his role in Alain Guiraudie’s 2013 movie “Stranger by the Lake.”
Photographer Mélonie Foster Hennessy, meanwhile, is looking to move into fashion photography. “I would love to work on some editorials and do something really avant-garde,” she said.
She has already made a step in the right direction; her latest exhibition includes a series of works entitled “Diary of a Pair of Golden Shoes,” featuring a pair of Roger Vivier shoes that travel the world, showing at the Barnes gallery on Paris’ Rue Bonaparte until May.
Also spotted front row were actress Lilou Fogli, Pauline Ducruet, Princess Stephanie of Monaco’s daughter, actor Andy Gillet and photographer Ellen von Unwerth.
