Val Garland, for MAC, set out to “make the girls more beautiful than they already are,” with a simple yet perfected approach. “They need to look natural,” Garland said.

Skin, which was meant to look fresh, featured Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation and Studio Finish as well as Pure Sculpture Pro Sculpting Cream in the cheekbones and temples to contour. Garland used a large fluffy brush and diffused Cremeblend Blush in Posey and Ladyblush into the cheeks for a slightly flushed look.

Lashes were curled and lips were given a dose of Lip Conditioner. “The thing about Monique’s clothes is that they are very red carpet, almost couture, so we need the girls to [complement] that,” said Garland.
Bob Recine for Moroccanoil created a twisted updo to complement Monique’s intricately designed collection.

“If you look at the profile, you can see how it follows the jawline and accentuates the face,” said Recine, who described the look as rolled vertical chignons.

Recine began by mixing Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse with water in the palms of his hands, then working it through the hair. After blow-drying the hair, he pulled it back into two ponytails which he twisted, loosely rolled upward, then secured with pins, letting strands fall. He finished the style with a dose of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong, which he sprayed closer to the hair than usual for a “styled and modern” texture.

“The clothes are very beautiful, so we want a very gamine and real girl. We’re trying to do something not-so-perfect so we don’t sacrifice charm. All those little stray hairs that happen and bounce around, there’s our charm.”

Nails, by Julie Kandalec for Essie, were a sheer pastel-pink shade, Muchi Muchi, and meant to evoke cherry blossoms.
