MILAN — For Blumarine, hairstylist James Pecis and makeup artist Tom Pecheux reinterpreted the loose, bouncy wave and black, pencil-rimmed eyes that they had concocted for the label’s fashion show last season.

"Blumarine wanted to continue the strong identity of last season's girl, who's got a loose, soft wave full of movement and bounce," said Pecis.

He used Moroccanoil products including Root Boost, which was loaded on to hair’s dry roots and middle sections, then blown out and center-parted with fingers. Curling tongs and irons were employed on alternating sections of tresses and on the sides to produce controlled waves. After, everything was brushed out. To finish, Treatment was rubbed lightly on to ends, and hair was twisted and clipped to models’ crowns to set before a final brush-out.

Meanwhile, Pecheux sourced the versatile, inky black eye to create a sophisticated, naughty version inspired by a cool London girl.

"You can create a totally different woman with just one makeup basic — the black eye,” he said. “It can look sophisticated, rough, dirty, naughty or rock ‘n’ roll by putting the black on the inside or the outside of the eye, or leaving it smoky or strong."

To achieve the look, using MAC Cosmetics, an ebony eye pencil was run into the lashline and waterline, and softly blended-out with a Q-tip. Eyelids were slicked with a layer of clear Lipglass to give a wet appearance, while brows were brushed up and filled in. Lashes were curled but given no mascara. To balance the darkly lined eye, there was no blush or contour but rather skin was given a light, natural glow with Face and Body Foundation mixed with Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation.
