'Soft and Romantic' Hair at Alberta Ferretti

The designer requested a beauty look based on fantasy creatures such as fairies and wood elves.

Alberta Ferretti requested a beauty look based on fantasy creatures such as fairies and wood elves, according to makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds, who worked with MAC Cosmetics.

"We’re sculpting with light," he said while shaping faces with Luster Drops in Sun Rush dabbed along the inner eye, the temples, the cheekbones and the cupid’s bow.

Beneath the shimmer, Face and Body Foundation was applied and brushed to a matte finish with Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.

A sheer coat of Root Cream Colour Base was swept along the lid and shadowed across the lower lash line. Lashes were curled; brows were brushed with Clear Brow Set; and a mix of Dim Lip Erase and Fresh Brew Lipstick knocked down the natural lip color to a creamy, nude tone.

"It’s a signature Ferretti look - soft and romantic," hairstylist Guido Palau said of the loose ponytail that he created with Redken products. Satinwear 02 was blow-dried into the hair, followed by a center parting.

Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two Day Extender was applied to dry hair from mid-lengths to ends and pulled into a loose, low ponytail at the nape of the neck. The elastic was wrapped by a lank of hair.
