FAMILY AFFAIR: Three generations of the Rykiel family turned out on Friday evening for the debut runway show of Geraldo da Conceicao for Sonia Rykiel, the first since the label was sold to Fung Brands Ltd. last year.

Founder Sonia Rykiel was joined by her daughter Nathalie, who remains a consultant for the house, and granddaughters Tatiana, Lola and Salomé. The flame-haired designer declined to pose for photographs, but appeared well despite her ongoing struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

“I thought the show was spot-on, exactly what was needed,” Sonia Rykiel said after the show. “It was humorous and tender, and the colors were gorgeous.”

Nathalie Rykiel shrugged off the fact that the models didn't smile — a house trademark in the past. “I think he managed to brilliantly reinterpret the spirituality of the Rykiel woman in a very modern and impertinent way,” she said. “We are very, very, very pleased.”

Guests at the show, held in a warehouse on the eastern fringes of Paris, included da Conceicao’s former boss Martine Sitbon, in addition to Zoe Cassavetes, Ellen von Unwerth, Lou Lesage and Marina Hands.

French actress Agathe Bonitzer, wearing an oversized gold lamé coat, said she was in the middle of promoting her new movie, "Au bout du conte," out next week. “I play Laura, a sort of modern-day Little Red Riding Hood,” she said, adding that French rocker Benjamin Biolay is the equivalent to her Big Bad Wolf in the film.

Meanwhile, Céline Sallette is getting ready to tackle several strong female roles. Next month, she will star in James Joyce’s “Molly Bloom” at the Théâtre de la Commune in Aubervilliers, on the outskirts of Paris, before heading off to shoot director Tony Gatlif’s “Geronimo.”

“The character is a bit of a warrior. Geronimo is her surname,” she explained.

Charlotte Olympia Dellal said she recently traded favors with fellow accessories designer Olympia Le-Tan. “She made me a few [book-shaped clutches] for my collection and I made her shoes for hers,” explained Dellal, who was excited about the upcoming opening of her store in Los Angeles. “I love old Hollywood, it’s the essence of my brand.”
