WARDROBE OPTIONS: January Jones was rocking a Sixties vibe at the Miu Miu show in Paris on Wednesday, but it was a very different look than you would see on Betty Draper, her character on the hit television show “Mad Men.”
“Betty never gets to do Mod, so I thought it would be fun — especially for Miu Miu,” said Jones, who was sporting a bouffant flick hairstyle with winged black eyeliner.
In “Streetwater,” a period Western that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, she got to try another wardrobe entirely. “The female protagonist sort of kicks ass. She kills a lot of people — she goes on a vengeance spree,” Jones explained. “She uses her femininity as a weapon, so I was in a lot of 19th-century gowns, with a bustle and everything.”
Rebecca Hall is suiting up for a blockbuster promotional tour for “Iron Man 3,” which is set for a May release. The actress said she relied on a stylist to pick her eveningwear for the red carpet. “I’m much more comfortable with the day looks,” she said, citing Prada and Celine as favorites.
Zoe Saldana slipped back into her red uniform to reprise her role as Lieutenant Uhura in “Star Trek Into Darkness,” the second installment of the science fiction franchise directed by J.J. Abrams. The actress looked forward to reconnecting with Trekkies when the movie comes out in May.
Though she was wearing spindly black stiletto heels, Renée Zellweger managed to avoid getting stuck in the venue’s transparent grid floor. The “Bridget Jones’s Diary” star said she would expect nothing less from Miuccia Prada.
“I don’t think she would have put it down if it was a precarious option for the girls. I doubt it. She’s been pretty meticulous when it comes to paying attention to detail,” Zellweger noted. As it turned out, most of the models in the show wore chunky metallic leather boots with thick rubberized soles.
