Now midway through its second season, HBO’s “Girls” and its star and creator Lena Dunham have shown no signs of relinquishing their role as cultural Rorschach test for early 21st century America, still inspiring weekly think pieces and Twitter riffs galore. Co-star Allison Williams is paying no attention to the chatter. “I’m not on social media,” the actress said Thursday afternoon before Jason Wu’s fall runway show at 583 Park Avenue. “I wasn’t drawn to it initially and I would always think, ‘What would I Tweet if I were on Twitter?’ The answer is nothing particularly interesting. So I thought, ‘OK, if I’m not going to have a particularly comedic persona, and if I’m not going to be myself because myself is not that interesting, then I probably should just abstain fully.”
Williams laughed while finishing her thought: “By the way, Lena more than adequately covers those bases.”
Other showgoers in the front row included Wu regular Jamie King and Stephanie Seymour with sons Peter Brant II and Harry Brant.
