DOWNTON AND OUT: “Downton Abbey’s” Lady Sybil — Jessica Brown-Findlay — had to bow out at the last minute from attending Carmen Marc Valvo’s show on Friday. On location in New York for a new film, the 23-year-old actress’ shooting schedule changed due to the weather. Ironically, the flick she is working on is “Winter’s Tale.”
Another up-and-coming thespian, Nichole [folo] Galicia, did get to the designer’s front row. The “Django Unchained” actress is gunning for a memorable Oscar Night. “I hope we win big. I think our fantastic director [Quentin Tarantino] deserves another Oscar,” she said.
A former model who agreed to take her first acting class after her booker encouraged her to do so, Galicia said Valvo offered to make a red-carpet gown for her big night, but she has yet to commit. But it’s not as though designers are pounding on her door to suit her up for the Oscars. “I wish I had that problem. Right now I have maybe two people trying to dress me - maybe next year,” she said. “I have to make my way through fashion week before I worry about Feb. 24.”
