SHAKE AND BAKE: A cupcake from New York’s Magnolia Bakery was placed on each seat at the Kenzo show on Sunday. A crew had flown in specially to bake the treats in Paris the night before the show, whose VIP guests included Sean “Diddy” Combs, rapper Shyne, singer Robyn, French actress Lou Lesage and “It” girls Joséphine de la Baume, Annabelle Dexter-Jones and Mary Charteris.

Artist Francesco Vezzoli sat next to Delfina Delettrez, who designed a capsule jewelry line for the show. Vezzoli said he was preparing a “survey” of past projects to go on show next year in three venues: the MAXXI — National Museum of the 21st Century Arts in Rome, MoMA PS1 in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. “My big hope is that I manage to convince everybody to open the show simultaneously, because I think it would be more interesting to create an artistic exhibition that gets distributed like a movie,” he said. “That’s part of my vocabulary, to appropriate systems of communication that don’t belong to my field.”

The same could be said of Nicola Formichetti, who dropped by to cheer on Kenzo creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, the duo behind New York retail emporium Opening Ceremony. “I’m all about supporting these new ideas, you know, like me as a stylist working on a brand, and them — you know, they’re shop owners, in a way. I think that good, bad, whatever that is, it’s always new, and I think it’s exciting. I feel it’s very now. You just have to have good ideas, you don’t have to be a couturier to take over,” said the Mugler creative director and stylist to Lady Gaga. “We need that right now. The world is too sad, and I think fashion should be fun.”
