Front Row at Dolce & Gabbana

Helen Mirren, Monica Belluci and Sonam Kapoor all attended the fall show.

NEED FOR SPEED: “I love to drive fast around corners, and I don’t get to do that much,” said Helen Mirren, discussing a recent re-run on Italian television of her stint on BBC auto show “Top Gear.” “I was pretty good, but not brilliant, or at least not as good as I thought I could be,” the ebullient actress said before the Dolce & Gabbana show.

Mirren will tread on more familiar territory as she starts filming a movie on Alfred Hitchcock’s life next month in Los Angeles. Mirren plays the director’s wife, Alma, to Anthony Hopkins’ Hitchcock. “They say three hands were on every movie. She was very influential on his work, edited scripts and movies, she was an interesting figure in the background and contributed to his success.”

Mirren’s director husband, Taylor Edwin Hackford, accompanied her to the show. His forthcoming film, “Parker,” is based on the fictional character created by Donald Westlake. He described the movie, which will be out in the fall and stars Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez, as “a thriller-crime-film noir.” Monica Bellucci said she’s ready to experiment with comedy in the new Danièle Thompson movie that she will start filming in April. “I haven’t really done comedy, so I’m looking forward to that,” said the actress, who fronts the latest Dolce & Gabbana makeup campaign and has a range of lipsticks named after her for the brand. Andrea Dellal, Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and Gao Yuanyuan were also guests at the show.

Kapoor was enthusiastic about Italian fashion: “I love it,” she cooed. Kapoor, who later attended the Salvatore Ferragamo show on Sunday, said she just returned from Florence. “Ferragamo made a shoe cast for me,” she enthused.
