At Prabal Gurung, John Demsey, Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. group president, sat next to CNN reporter Alina Cho, who just wrapped a segment on the designer which will run on Tuesday.
"I interviewed him at his showroom a couple days ago, and he said [his inspiration was] Miss Havisham, Great Expectations, and I think he does a beautiful job of making a woman feel beautiful and modern... I've been a huge fan of Prabal since the beginning," she said.
Nearby was Bravo host and Senior Vice President of Original Programming Andy Cohen, who chatted with Jessica Chastain. Chastain squeezed in Prabal's show in between a hectic promotion schedule. "This is it, I'm heading to Berlin tonight [for the Berlin film festival.] I'm there with a film called Coriolanus, that Ralph Fiennes is doing," she said. Chastain plays Fiennes' wife, and Vanessa Redgrave and Gerard Butler also star. She said of the experience, "It was great. It was his first film that he directed. I've been attached to [the film] for awhile, and it was so hard to find the financing, but he finally got it and it was great, for me it was like a master class," she said. After Berlin, Chastain is busy with a slew of projects. She listed her upcoming films, "'Tree of Life,' comes out Memorial Day weekend with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, 'The Help,' comes out August 12, and I'm in 'The Debt,' that comes out August 31st with Helen Mirren," she said.
Jenna Lyons arrived mere seconds before the show started, thanks to the Fashion Week Achilles heel: the town car mixup. In an effort to make it in time, "I was running, and someone's taking a picture as I'm running, my shirt's flying, I'm like, 'Don't take my picture while I'm running.' It's not going to be pretty, I'm sure," she laughed.
She did however, have time for a little scoop: Prabal fans can look forward to a J.Crew collaboration arriving in June.
Carolina Herrera was not on a scouting mission at Prabal Gurung's show Saturday - she is his CFDA mentor. Gurung is expected to return the love by turning up at her show Monday morning.
