WOOING WU?: As talks of expected fashion designer chess moves at a number of Paris’s luxury houses continues to feed fashion's rumor mill following John Galliano’s ousting at Dior, the sighting of Jason Wu front row at the Lanvin show on Friday sure sent tongues a-wagging. “I’m here for my first Lanvin show, Mrs. Wang invited me,” said the designer, referring to the house’s owner, Taiwanese publishing magnate Shaw-Lan Wang. Wu, who was seated next to Lanvin men’s wear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, added that he was in town for meetings regarding his own label. Also there to take in the show were Lanvin regular Jade Jagger and actresses Nathalie Baye and Rosamund Pike. Baye said she has just shot five short movies back-to-back with five up-and-coming directors for Canal Plus, which she hopes will be screened in a parallel section of the Cannes International Film Festival in May. “It’s pretty terrific to allow young directors to express themselves and to discover new talents,” she said. Pike, who is currently filming the sequel to “Clash of the Titans,” titled “Wrath of the Titans,” talked Girl Power, meanwhile. The actress plays the role of Andromeda. “Ancient Greece was quite matriarchal, they really put women to the fore, so I love the idea of being able to create a proper heroine for young girls,” said Pike, who was dressed in a red one-shoulder Lanvin frock.
