A WOMAN FOR ALL SEASONS: The models in towering gray beehives at Jean Paul Gaultier resonated with his gang of faithful, all believers that a woman can be seductive at any age. Amanda Lear, the former muse of Surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, said she had just wrapped a three-year run in the play “Panic at the Ministry” and would be playing Mrs. Robinson in “The Graduate” come September. Casting Benjamin Braddock is proving a challenge, however. “He has to be a virgin. Now, I don’t think we’re going to find an actor who’s a virgin, so he’ll have to pretend,” Lear said in her husky voice.

Director Tonie Marshall is also casting a May-to-December romance, from a script she originally wrote for Gérard Depardieu. When he couldn’t do the movie, she turned the title character into a woman. “It’s a slightly dark love story between a woman and her ex-husband’s son,” she explained.

Farida Khelfa and Arielle Domasle, who have hit the catwalk in the past year for Hermès and Gaultier’s own label, took in the show as spectators. “I prefer to watch,” said Khelfa, who has more film projects in the works after making her directing debut with a documentary about the designer.

Also attending were Kanye West, Elly “La Roux” Jackson, Daisy Lowe, Chinese actress Chen Hao and Nicole Richie, who was kicking up her heels after spending the day meeting buyers for her Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 labels. “I’m actually leaving from Paris to Morocco. I’m going on a very short inspiration trip and then I’m headed to India in two weeks because that is where we source all of our fabric — and then I go home, I feel very excited about that!” said Richie, wearing a floor-length floral chiffon cape. In the meantime, her daughters Harlow and Sparrow have joined their dad Joel Madden on a U.S. tour with his band, Good Charlotte.
