Hilary Alexander to bow out of her job as fashion director of London’s Daily Telegraph at the end of June.
WORLD BEAT: Hilary Alexander, fashion director of London’s Daily Telegraph, arrived at the Alexander McQueen show Tuesday night sporting a new fur hat and an ornate necklace. Both were retirement gifts presented to her at a luncheon earlier in the day at Caviar Kaspia, hosted by American Vogue’s Anna Wintour and Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune. Alexander, who turned 65 last month, said she would bow out of her job at the end of June. “I’m going to do some freelance. I am also hoping to study archaeology at Wolfson College,” she said, explaining that her interest in other civilization fuels her globetrotting style.
