Clémence Poésy popped over to Paris from London where she’s shooting the next chapters of the “Harry Potter” film saga.

UP IN ARMS: “It’s my year of ----ing war movies!” Mélanie Laurent declared as she set foot on the luminescent floor at the Balenciaga show.

 

A Nazi killer in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds,” Laurent’s next movie, “The Roundup,” opens next week and she plays a nurse at an internment camp following a Nazi-decreed raid on the Jewish population in France. “She tries to help them, but they all die,” she sighed.

 

The French actress is currently on stage wearing mostly Repetto in a romantic comedy at La Pépinière Theater in Paris, and finds it exhilarating, yet exhausting. “I’m really, really tired after one hour. But it’s full every night so that’s great,” she said. Marie-Josée Croze is also in wartime mode. “Liberté” just opened on French screens, about a Gypsy family that travels the French roads during the Second World War. “I play a schoolteacher,” she said. “I wear a very 1942 suit; very strict.”

Amira Casar said she was preparing to play artist and Pablo Picasso muse Dora Maar for French television channel France 2. “I know a lot about her life because she has always fascinated me,” said the actress. “When Picasso left her, she said: ‘After Picasso, God’.” Charlotte Gainsbourg, who is the face of Nicolas Ghesquière’s first scent for the brand, said she’s adopted the scent.

 

Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American fragrances at Coty Prestige, which is rolling out the fragrance, said the initial response in the United States had been very strong. “We’re over the moon,” she said. “It actually exceeded our expectations.”
