Cavalli Charges Ahead... Miuccia and Rodolfo.... Litigiously Yours...

A dizzying range of animal prints covered each chair, table and even oversize lamps at the dinner held by Roberto Cavalli for his first credit card launch.

SPOT ON: A dizzying range of animal prints covered each chair, table and even oversize lamps at the Milanese theater where Roberto Cavalli held a dinner to launch his first credit card on Sunday. Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie; Elizabeth Hurley and her husband Arun Nayar; Milla Jovovich, tapped as the face of the card; “CSI” star Gary Dourdan, and ballet star Eleonora Abbagnato sipped Cavalli’s Tuscan wine and dined on regional dishes such as rustic, thick spaghetti. And now there’s an additional reason to shop: Ferguson said a percentage of every sale made with the Cavalli card will benefit the charity she has founded, Children in Crisis. “We’ve built 82 schools around the world,” she said. Jovovich, in addition to her latest movie, the mystery “A Perfect Gateway,” will appear in a viral campaign for the card alongside the designer and a Rolls-Royce. Meanwhile, Dourdan said his mother was a seamstress and he’s mulling launching his own apparel line.

COSTUME PARTY:
Miuccia Prada is not holding a grudge against her longtime assistant Rodolfo Paglialunga, who resigned to become Vionnet’s creative director. Prada said Paglialunga would help her design costumes for Giuseppe Verdi’s “Attila,” to be staged next spring at the Metropolitan Opera and directed by Riccardo Muti. Herzog & de Meuron, with whom Prada has worked on a number of projects, will be in charge of the set design.
