Makeup was minimalistic at Vivienne Tam’s presentation for her fall 2009 collection.
Polly Osmond for MAC explained that the clothes were quite colorful, and therefore makeup should not compete. To that end, eyes were simply lined on both the top and bottom to create a graphic look, while lips, lids and cheeks were both pale and nude. Hairstylist Kevin Mancuso for Nexxus created a do-it-yourself French twist, one that was slightly imperfect by not integrating hair at the front of the head into the overall twist and instead separately pinning this section back.
“There’s a fine line between a glamorous French twist and one [that would be worn by a] flight attendant,” he said.
