Seventies Beauties at Hilfiger

Makeup artist Lisa Butler, who was working with the MAC Cosmetics team, went for "a late Seventies-early Eighties kind of look."

At Tommy Hilfiger Thursday morning, makeup artist Lisa Butler, who was working with the MAC Cosmetics team, went for "a late Seventies-early Eighties kind of look."

To achieve this, she applied three shades of gold to the eyes for a "very gold look." She also filled in the brows, but only applied a dab of blush "to warm up the face a bit.

"It's very healthy," she said, "but a little bit glamorous. It's not too structured, but the key to it is there's lots of mascara."

For the hair, stylist Luigi Murenu juxtaposed masculine and feminine in the same look. Hair was slicked back in the front for a masculine feel with a polished shine, but then tresses were flat-ironed into "luscious waves" in the back for a very feminine feel.

"It's reminiscent of the Seventies," he remarked. "The front is graphic, and at the same time, it's soft in the back."
