Easy Like Monday Morning at Stella McCartney
Hair and makeup were kept super-simple at the Stella McCartney show Monday. “It’s always about being easy with Stella, ‘cause cool girls don’t really do high-production hair,” said Eugene Souleiman backstage. The hairstylist, who’s sponsored by Wella, used almost no products to create his look.
Hair was scraped back into a rough ponytail, with tighter sides than on top to form a slightly square shape. Souleiman then twisted the tail with some water and rolled it back on itself to create a distressed wave. Naturally curly hair was tamed with a smidge of Wella’s Crystal Styler. “The final look is all about the beauty of imperfection,” he added.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath followed suit with a “fresh, no-makeup face.” She used foundation from Max Factor’s Natural Minerals line and filled in brows if needed, adding a little cream blush from Armani to restore life into the models’ early morning complexions. A touch of brown mascara and slick of neutral lip color completed the look.
