Tough Gals at Roberto Cavalli

When it comes to hair and makeup, Roberto Cavalli is fond of full-blown glamour. But for fall he changed tack, with a tight bun and a smoky gray eye.

"It's dramatic but it's pared back," hairstylist Guido Palau said of the style. Palau gave models a precise center-part, fastening the hair into a ponytail low at the back of the neck, and then twisted it into a bun. To add gloss and keep hair in place, Palau used Redken's Vinyl Glam and Glass, and finished with a spritz of Redken's Forceful hair spray.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath focused on the eye, which she constructed with a blend of black and gunmetal gray shadows, black liner and layers of Max Factor's 2000 Calorie mascara.

"It's tough but it's making a glam statement," McGrath said.

After prepping the skin with a new Max Factor Second Skin foundation, McGrath added pale, glossy lips and highlighted cheeks, in order to keep the focus on the eyes.
