Duchesses Hold Court at Oscar
At the Oscar de la Renta show Wednesday afternoon, Orlando Pita took hair to storied heights creating an updo inspired by the film "The Dutchess," starring Keira Knightley.
Pita, working with T3, began by creating a bun at the back of the head and vigorously teasing hair along the sides and front and back of the head. The sides were then folded over the bun, and the front and back were folded over as well, hiding the bun completely. He finished with T3's Control hair spray.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath created a sultry smoky eye look with defined brows, perfect skin and natural, glossy lips.
She began by lining the eyes with brown pencil, generously applying brown shadow to the lid and dabbing a touch of beige-gold shadow to the eye's inner corner. She finished with lots of Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara.
McGrath accentuated cheeks with a shimmering highlighter across the cheekbones. She suggested re-creating the bold eye look by using a dual-ended, bronze and gold eye shadow pen by Max Factor. Models' nails were done in Fed Up by Essie, a peachy neutral shade.
