Bohemian Opulence at Nanette Lepore

"The inspiration was a traveler, wearing lots of layers of clothes — and a lot of gold makeup," said Polly Osmond on behalf of MAC Cosmetics. "But it's a wearable gold look — not too tacky."

To achieve this pretty, gilded style, Osmond layered on different products, first applying MAC's Brassy Fluid Line on eyelids and under the eye before adding the brand's Rose Gold Pigment over the top of lids "for a bit of pop." For depth, she lined the inner rims of eyes with MAC's coffee-colored Power Surge Eye Kohl pencil. Cheeks were flushed with a berry stain and gold shimmer on top, while lips were both shimmery and smudgy — a look created by applying MAC's Diva Lipstick under the brand's Brassy Fluid Line, which was painted on top.

Hair was "tousled and sexy," in the hands of stylist Leonardo Manetti, who owns salon Ion Studio in New York. "The inspiration was bohemian opulent — Nanette's board had all of these rich color palettes and texture."

To articulate this, Manetti created an effortless undone look. He first applied Davines' Texturizer and Volume Mousse and then blew out hair to dry the product. Next, he used an iron "to create random bend" before teasing hair everywhere to give it volume. Once hair was teased, Manetti brushed out hair, creating a rough middle part. "Overall, I think hair needs to be a little more sexy — a little more free."
