Less Is More at Julien Macdonald

"It's all about fresh-faced French girls who drink lots of water, have great skin and have groomed eyebrows," said makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.

"It's all about fresh-faced French girls who drink lots of water, have great skin and have groomed eyebrows," said makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who was working with Myface Cosmetics backstage at Julien Macdonald. "They're naturally healthy."

Tilbury worked Myface Mymix Foundation into skin and warmed cheeks with Rouge Blusher in Copa Chocca Latta topped with a smidge of moisturizer. She added a hint of color to eyes using Eye Touch Eye Shadow in A Whole Latte Love and finished peepers with Upload Mascara in brown. Eyebrows were groomed and filled out with an eye pencil.

Hairstylist James Brown, who was using his eponymous line, had an equally minimalist approach to hair. "We wanted the models to look completely simple and natural," he said, adding hair was pulled back from the face using fingers rather than a comb.

Brown finished the look by spritzing hair with James Brown London Hairspray and Shine & Fragrance Mist.
