Sleek Minimalism at Charlotte Ronson

"The look was influenced by bold Forties glamour but with a funky feel that matches the playfulness of the clothes," said hairstylist Thomas Dunkin, who created a sleek "supertight" ponytail for Sebastian Professional, which sponsored Ronson's show. "We put a lot of product and shine in the hair to give a glamour edge, but with texture — nothing too literal."

Dunkin achieved this high-gloss look by applying Sebastian's Trilliant polishing product, Liquid Gloss, to the first third of unparted hair before straightening it with an iron. He then misted the top of the head with Trilliant's shimmer complex, Halo Mist, to create surface sheen before combing back hair into a taut "medium ponytail that you don't see at the front." He finished off the look with Trilliant's Shine Define hair spray and Gel Forte to tame any flyaways.

Luc Bouchard, who created a slightly "raw" face for MAC Cosmetics, also drew inspiration from the Forties, but with a more minimalist interpretation. The face was kept glowing and mostly bare to highlight dark lips, which were dotted with moisturizer and colored with MAC's Chestnut and Nightmoth lip pencil for "uneven color that looks like it was applied with the fingers," said Bouchard, who kept brows natural "much like the way Charlotte keeps the clothes natural by incorporating men's jackets into the feminine collection."

On the eyes, Bouchard applied "concrete-inspired" tones using MAC eye shadow in Coquette and Omega. To soften the eyes, he lined the water line with MAC's yet-to-be released, flesh-toned Chromographic pencil.
