Phillip Lim Beauty Rocks On
“It’s poetic mod rock,” said Ayako Yoshimura, for Nars about the face of Phillip Lim’s fall collection. “She’s like the girlfriend of Mick Jagger.”
Yoshumura used a sheer matte foundation to leave skin “almost bare” and left faces without blush or lipstick. “I used a little concealer to blend lips and skin,” she said. Eyes were given subtle iridescence with golden and warm hued shadows in Indian Summer and Silk Road, while both top and bottom lashes were defined with plumping mascara.
Lead hair stylist, Odile Gilbert said hair for the show was “simple,” “edgy” and “modern.” Models were fashioned with bobs in six shades of browns and blondes, complete with thick, straight bangs. “It’s a complete look, from head to toe,” said Gilbert. “It’s an attitude, a young face, something like Katie Holmes.”
