Front Row at Giorgio Armani Privé: The Actress as Muse

Giorgio Armani’s muses turned out in force to his Privé couture show Tuesday.

Giorgio Armani’s muses turned out in force to his Privé couture show Tuesday. Cate Blanchett and Isabelle Huppert sat front row alongside Elsa Pataky, Megan Fox and the star of Armani’s latest fragrance ad, Polish actress Kasia Smutniak. Blanchett said she’s about to start production of Liv Ullman’s theatrical take on Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” in which she plays Blanche DuBois. “The outfits are faded bowerbird I would say,” she said.

Fox, who shot to fame in “Transformers,” said she has a trio of movies in the works and a fashion campaign, though kept mum on details. “It’s a worldwide brand,” she teased.

Huppert, who sipped a cocktail with Claudia Cardinale, said she’s just finished “Copacabana” alongside her actress daughter Lolita Chammah. Cardinale had flown in from wrapping her latest movie in Casablanca, and is next promoting her book, “My Tunisia,” about the country where she was born.

Continuing the cocktail at the Idole d’Armani fragrance launch next door, Smutniak reenacted a boudoir scene from its ad. “At first I was like ‘Aaaah’ everybody’s looking at me!’ Now it’s better,” she said between poses. The actress is looking forward to a month of promotional editorial for the scent. “It’s like being in a movie, it’s fun to shoot with very big photographers,” she beamed.

Pataky said she’ll next pay homage to Spanish actresses in “DD in Hollywood.” “It’s the story of Latin American actresses trying to make it. My character comes from a little village in Spain. It shows all she has to go through, learning the language, all the bad side, the gossip. I can relate to it,” she laughed.
