LOS ANGELES — After 13 years in the fashion business, contemporary designer Trina Turk is finally ready for a growth spurt.
Flush with an investment from private equity firm KarpReilly LLC, Turk is adding two shops in Newport Beach and Burlingame, Calif., to her string of five stores stretching from Palm Springs, Calif., to New York. She’s also moved her vivid signature prints from her classic sportswear to plush pillows, sleek Lucite chairs and other home furnishings. In the spring, she’ll expand to the pool through a collaboration with F. Schumacher & Co. to produce outdoor upholstery fabrics that are resistant to fading, water and stains. Also...
