Conceived by Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni and architect studio Sybarite, the 1,620-square-foot space, which opened last Tuesday, belongs to the brand's newest store concept that also highlights its growing accessories business.
There are two rooms entirely dedicated to accessories and characterized by large stainless steel displays or backlit fiberglass showcases.
The clothes are showcased on polished stainless steel racks that curl around the walls while suspended mannequins float in the air moved by fans. Other elements used for the decor include aged teak floors and walls painted with an unfinished hand. First-year sales figures were unavailable.
Marni's partner for the store is Beymen, a Turkish high-end department store chain.
This new venue increases to 68 the number of Marni freestanding stores and shops-in-shops.
The opening of 20 stores is in the pipeline for this year, aimed at strengthening Marni's presence in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, among other countries.
