Lockerz, Stacy Igel in New Deal

Social commerce site will be the exclusive e-commerce destination for her Boy Meets Girl line, and Igel has been tapped as site's fashion editor and stylist.

Lockerz, a social commerce site, has joined forces with Stacy Igel and her fashion brand, Boy Meets Girl.

Lockerz will be the exclusive e-commerce destination for Boys Meets Girl merchandise, and Igel has been tapped as Lockerz’ chief fashion editor and stylist. The Lockerz team and Igel will work together to promote and build the Boy Meets Girl brand and leverage insights from the Lockerz social commerce platform and its membership.

Boy Meets Girl is also available at such retailers as Sofia in Chicago, Lit Boutique in Boston and Foravi in New York.

Lockerz members collect and share photos, images and videos, which become Decalz, from anywhere on the Web. Boy Meets Girl can now use Lockerz to test its assortments and plan inventory, based upon customer behavior. For instance, Boy Meets Girl can post Decalz of complete looks or items and then track the number of “grabs” to gauge popularity and better predict sales among its 13- to 35-year-old customer base, which it refers to as Generation Z.

Kathy Savitt, founder and chief executive officer of Lockerz, said, “Stacy is an incredibly talented designer and marketer, and we are excited to further build on the popularity of the Boy Meets Girl brand though this new collaboration.”

Lockerz allows visitors to build up points that can be redeemed to buy merchandise offered on the Lockerz shopping site. Members earn PTZ for taking part in some activity on the site, such as watching a video or participating in a poll. The PTZ can then be used to get deals on products offered in the Lockerz Store, which will include a Boy Meets Girl boutique.

“Joining the Lockerz team is a great way to build an even larger audience for Boy Meets Girl, as well as be a part of ground-breaking innovation for customers and brands,” said Igel.

Lockerz was founded in 2009 in Seattle. It currently has members in 195 countries. The site offers discounts on fashion and electronics for collecting, watching and sharing content on Lockerz. Among the brands featured on the site are Seven For All Mankind, James Jeans, Ella Moss, Splendid, Michael Stars, Theodora & Callum, Alex and Ani, Jules Smith, CC Skye, Xbox 360, Nintendo, Skullcandy, Canon and Olympus. Lockerz is backed by Liberty Media Corp., Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures and Live Nation Entertainment.
