The Swedish fast-fashion giant, H&M, has driven throngs of shoppers to its doors with ingenius, if eclectic, designer and celebrity collaborations.

Here, a look at H&M's brief history of collaborations, beginning with their most recent alliance with Comme des Garçons, to the company's first upscale design effort with Karl Lagerfeld, in 2002.
