Paul Jowdy on Wednesday was named publisher of Women’s Wear Daily, part of Fairchild Fashion Media.
Until last week, Jowdy served as publisher of Every Day With Rachael Ray. He left the magazine when it was sold to Meredith Corp.
In his new role, Jowdy will be responsible for WWD, WWD.com, WWD glossies and the newly launched Style.com/Print magazine. He will report to Will Schenck, chief revenue officer of FFM.
Prior to Every Day, Jowdy served as publisher of Details and Bon Appétit. His successor at Every Day, Christine Guilfoyle, formerly served as publisher of WWD.
“This all happened in just 24 hours,” said Jowdy. “From lunch on Monday to lunch on Tuesday.”
His first day is today. “I’m on the road all next week, hitting Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. I think it’s the best way to learn.”
