PARIS — Marie-Claire Pauwels, a driving force behind French weekly fashion magazine Madame Figaro for more than two decades, died on Sunday in Paris. She was 66.

The cause of death was cancer, Le Figaro said.

Her father, Louis Pauwels, was a journalist, writer and founded the Figaro Magazine, where his daughter took the helm of the fashion title as director in 1980 until 2006.

In 2003, she wrote a novel, called “Daddy’s Girl” about the love between a father and daughter.
