RETAILERS LAUNCH CYBER INTELLIGENCE CENTER: The Retail Industry Leaders Association, along with several major U.S. retailers and brands, launched the Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center, the centerpiece of which is a Retail Information Sharing and Analysis Center.

PINTEREST RAISES $200 MILLION: Pinterest raised an additional $200 million in funding, led by SV Angel — bringing the social platform's total funding to over $537 million and valuing the company about $5 billion.

WIRED NEW YORK:
Gotham’s tech crowd headed downtown to the Museum of Jewish Heritage to Wired’s Bizcon 2014 — where the promise of advertising on Tumblr and the mobile future of eBay were saw some time in the spotlight.

PORN FOR WOMEN LAUNCHES WEB SITE: Sarah Gidick, the creator of the cult Instagram account Porn for Women, has almost 80,000 followers who can vouch for the tasteful images of handsome men that she’s become known for posting alongside funny commentary. This week she launched a Web site in the same vein, Thepfw.com, which will be populated entirely with original content, including her musings on women in business, fashion and, of course, men.

SAKS NAMES DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA: Qianna Smith joined Saks Fifth Avenue as director of social media. She is responsible for leading all of the retailer's social platforms and overseeing the editorial direction of the SaksPOV blog.

L’ORÉAL'S MAKEUP GENIUS: L’Oréal unveiled a new makeup app called Makeup Genius, which turns the front-facing iPhone and iPad camera (the first phase is not Android friendly) into a makeup mirror so users can virtually try on more than 300 products.

KARTELL KICKS OFF E-COMMERCE WITH YOOX: Italian design company Kartell teamed with Yoox Group to launch its new kartell.com store. The Web site, which was designed by Yoox’s internal creative team with a “mobile first” approach, is Kartell’s first online store and is currently available for Europe only.
