Designer Salvatore J. Cesarani will be featured in the upcoming PBS television special, “Smarter Brains,” which will air multiple times in the New York City area between Aug. 3 and Aug. 8.

The show, which will be narrated by actor Peter Coyote, explores the latest science on intelligence and looks at how taking on new challenges and exercising creativity can improve brain power.

“Smarter Brains” examines Cesarani’s work as both a designer and an instructor at Parsons The New School for Design, and shows how the interaction with students and use of the latest design software stimulate him creatively.

“I love the fact that I teach,” Cesarani said, “because not only does it keep the students current, but it also keeps me current.”

The special also features interviews with Jeff Hawkins, the inventor of the Palm Pilot; Alzheimer’s disease researchers at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and brain and intelligence experts.
