Uniqlo Taps Dakota Fanning, Tom Odell

The actress and the British singer-songwriter will star in an ad campaign for the retailer's spring 2014 collection.

UNIQLO’S YOUTHQUAKE: Uniqlo has teamed with Dakota Fanning and the British singer-songwriter Tom Odell to showcase its spring collection.

An ad campaign starring Fanning and Odell focuses on core basics such as AIRism innerwear, polo shirts and denim in key colors such as indigo. Fabrics featured include linen and Supima cotton.

Fanning looks natural with minimal makeup in an indigo shirt, jeans and a navy sweater tied around her neck. Odell wears a checked shirt, white rolled-up jeans and a dark blazer. Fanning, who is 19, has starred in more than 25 films, including “I Am Sam,” “Man on Fire,” “War of the Worlds,” “The Secret Life of Bees” and “The Runaways.” The youngest actress to be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, she will next be seen in “Night Moves” and “Franny.”

Odell, 22, won the Brits Critics’ Choice award in 2013. His debut album, “Long Way Down,” went to number one in the U.K. and top 10 across Europe. Odell was recently nominated for two more Brit awards, for best male and best newcomer.
