TWEET FEAT: No one in fashion came close to Lauren Conrad in Twitter followers last month, her 2.5 million more than double the 1.2 million registered by Toms Shoes and the 1 million boasted by Rachel Zoe. But the Conrad margin is modest in comparison to the one enjoyed by DKNY in the realm of actual tweets during the month. According to Stylophane’s index of top Twitter fashion brands, DKNY, as represented by DKNY PR Girl in the person of Aliza Licht, Donna Karan International’s senior vice president of global communications, tweeted 1,105 times in February, more than triple the second and third most active tweeters, Kate Spade and Betsey Johnson, with 365 and 352 messages for the month. “I couldn’t even tell you how often I do it,” Licht told WWD. “I’m just always at it.”
The tweet total was just over 1,000 in January and is over 500 so far in March. Last month, DKNY ranked ninth among fashion firms on Twitter with 382,000 followers.
