TINA’S LAST ROAR: Tina Brown’s days at The Daily Beast are coming to an end. She confirmed Wednesday she’ll be leaving the Web site she founded in 2008 at the end of the year.
BuzzFeed first reported the news, and later Brown sent an e-mail to friends and colleagues. She is leaving to start a new conference business, Tina Brown Live Media, “devoted to summits, salons and what I call flash debates on the news,” she wrote. She is bringing with her the Women in the World conference she created while at the Beast.
The Daily Beast merged with Newsweek in 2010, but Barry Diller’s InterActiveCorp sold the newsweekly in August to the International Business Times, and it’s widely speculated the Beast may be next on the block.
