STYLISH SCRAPBOOK: “I don’t think it could have been ghostwritten, it’s so bizarre,” said Alexa Chung, at the launch of her first book, “It,” at Liberty in London on Wednesday. The 192-page book, published by Penguin, is a hodgepodge of her personal photos, drawings, random thoughts and advice.

Creating the book was “like an extended trip down memory lane” for Chung, who flew back to England and spent a few days trawling through old photographs in her attic. “It was gradual and done over the course of the year. It was more like a hobby, like putting together a scrapbook. It’s obviously not a novel,” Chung told WWD.

She admitted writing most of the book wearing a One Direction onesie and, while she didn’t have Microsoft Word, she ended up writing the bulk of it through e-mail and on bar napkins. “A lot of it was written on bar napkins because I would set aside a Sunday to write but then I’d end up rebelling against it and wanting to hang out with friends, so I’d meet them to play pool and then I said ‘OK, everyone has to brainstorm about things for a minute’ and then we’ll write down some notes.”

The DJ, model and “Fuse News” presenter, who recently inked a deal with cosmetics brand Eyeko, was greeted at Liberty by 200 fans wanting her to sign copies of the book, which retails for 16.99 pounds, or $25.70.
