NEW HIRES: Style.com has tapped two reporters to succeed its deputy editor Matthew Schneier, who decamped earlier this month for the style section of The New York Times.
According to the online fashion site, it is in the process of restructuring its team in the wake of Schneier’s departure. As a result, it has brought on Noah Johnson, Complex Media’s deputy editor, to be its deputy editor and Jessica Teves, Refinery29’s managing editor, to be site director.
“We’re planning a major expansion on Style.com this year, and it was very important to me to bring on people with a strong digital background,” said editor in chief Dirk Standen. “Jessica is an expert at programming content across digital, mobile and social media. Noah has brought tremendous vitality to Complex and he’s going to help us dramatically increase the quality and quantity of our news and features coverage.”
Standen added that he’s also looking to “build up” its fashion department and will bring on a shopping editor and a men’s wear reviewer.
Johnson and Teves will join the Style.com team at the end of the month.
