SECOND-HAND ROSE: Second-hand has become the first order of business for fashion reality shows. VH1 will begin airing half-hour episodes of “House of Consignment” starring Corri McFadden, owner of Chicago’s eDrop-Off, which specializes in selling designer duds on eBay, on March 21. “The show covers the inner workings of an office and gives viewers a glimpse of a different side of fashion,” said McFadden. “The Midwest workforce is very different than the coasts and having 37 employees under one roof is quite challenging to manage at times. I don’t think there has been a fashion-based reality show with this many employees.”
Later this year, “House of Consignment” may get competition for viewership from “Thrift Wars,” a show Oxygen Media has green lit that follows New Yorkers who scour flea markets, estate sales and thrift stores in the hopes of scoring big bucks on vintage clothes and accessories. Bravo’s version of consignment television, “Fashion Hunters,” premiered last October with a focus on the New York shop Second Time Around.
