Sometimes technology can't be trusted — just ask Rebecca Minkoff. At the designer's Fall 2013 runway show on Friday afternoon, Minkoff cleverly melded the world of social media and fashion when she made use of a giant LED screen to display all the tweets that were sent during the event. Fashionistas were encouraged to use the hashtag "#RMFall" to tag their tweets. Once the models took their final walk, the screen flashed to a feed of all the tweets sent, all of which —but one — commented on the clothes. In the top corner of the screen a pornographic image of a naked, smiling man caressing a topless woman flashed for several seconds. Jaws dropped and gasps were stifled by laughter and the loud live music played by Wild Cub, an indy band that the designer hired to provide a little extra entertainment.
Well, it appears Minkoff got a little more entertainment than she anticipated.
